SEN Nursery Assistant - Brent, North West London - Remedy Education

Remedy Education are looking for a one-to-one practitioner to support a two-year-old child with ASD from April 2020 and ongoing.

Working hours will be 9am-3:30am Monday til Friday during term time only.

We are looking for an experienced Early Years Level 3 Practitioner, with at least six months experience of working in an early years setting, preferably with experience of working with children with additional needs. You will be part of a small, friendly team and will report to the Deputy Manager who is also the SENCO.

Main duties:

  • To work closely with the Deputy Manager/Senco on the planning of the curriculum and with supporting the planning and implementation of activities for a child with ASD; promoting effective teaching and learning.
  • To teach this child, offering a high level of support and stimulation.
  • To monitor and evaluate the child's learning through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies.
  • To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports for parents and other professionals on the child's achievements, progress and related matters.
  • To provide support for the child's emotional and social needs.
  • To accompany the child on trips and visits as required.
  • To support the child with their toileting needs and to change nappies as required.
  • To meet the physical needs of the child, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene whilst promoting independence
