SEMH Teaching Assistant | South East London | Immediate Interviews | Primary School

Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Greenwich, South East London

Contract: Full time / Part Time

Start: ASAP

Rate: £90-105 per day

Remedy is seeking two dedicated and compassionate candidate who is willing to shape the future of young pupils. We require a Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to a pupil within a primary school.

You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student. This amazing SEMH - Teaching Assistant role will give you the opportunity to work a lovely year 5 child who suffers with some emotional mental health problems due to traumatic family issues. We want you to be the most heart-warming compassionate SEMH - Teaching Assistant.

The ideal candidate SEMH Teaching Assistant :

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.
  • A commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

The ideal Requirements for an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN ideally Social Emotional Mental Health.
