ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN - Greenwich
Are you an experienced ASD SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? Are you confident to support students in secondary school?
We are currently supporting a SEN Secondary school based in Greenwich who are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, empathetic and reliable ASD SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the whole of this academic year.
The role will start as soon as possible, it will be full time and will continue throughout the academic year and could become permanent for the right person. You will be supporting pupils who are aged 11 to 16 years old. You may be working with a small group or at times, on a 121 basis. The school require someone who has a good,strong understanding of ASD, trauma and brain injuries and be able to put boundaries in place whilst building a positive relationship with the students. Ideally, you will be Team Teach trained. There could be times where the pupil can display some behavioural difficulties.
The team at this school are dedicated to continuously working closely with parents and carers to provide the best possible outcome for each child. Offering various enrichment activities which in turn encourages pupils to progress through the various aspects of the curriculum.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Hours 8:30 am 3:30pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience providing personal care with young people (desirable)
Previous experience working with young people with ASD or PTSD (essential)
Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, but we can provide training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, but we can provide training)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, but, we can provide training)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH REMEDY EDUCATION, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically Autism (ASD/ASC)
Previous support work, TA or LSA work within a UK school or other related experience.
A caring and professional manner, willing to support with the personal care of pupils.
