HR Officer / HR Administrator - Temp - Permanent Role - Mainstream School - Waltham Forest

Start Date: ASAP
Working Arrangement: Office-based with potential for some WFH
Salary: dependent on experience

Are you an organised, people-focused HR professional looking to take the next step in a supportive school environment?
Remedy Education are working with a warm, welcoming school in Waltham Forest who are seeking a confident and proactive HR Officer/Administrator to join their team. This is a key role within the school, and they are hoping to bring in the right person who can grow with them long-term.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CIPD Level 5, or CIPD Level 3 with strong HR Officer experience, who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys building positive working relationships across a team.


The Role - HR Officer / HR Administrator

You will play a central part in keeping the school's HR function running smoothly. Key duties include:

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment: advertising vacancies, screening applicants, arranging interviews, and coordinating onboarding

  • Completing all pre-employment checks including DBS, references, right-to-work, and safeguarding documentation

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential staff records on the school's HR systems

  • Supporting with staff absences, leave requests, and attendance monitoring

  • Assisting with payroll preparation and liaising with payroll providers where necessary

  • Supporting performance management, training logs, and staff CPD administration

  • Providing day-to-day HR support to SLT, the School Business Manager, and wider staff team

  • Ensuring best practice in HR compliance, safeguarding, and safer recruitment


What We're Looking For

The school is seeking someone who:

  • Holds CIPD Level 5, or Level 3 with strong HR experience

  • Has solid administrative or HR experience, ideally in a school or people-focused setting

  • Is efficient, organised, and confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office

  • Communicates clearly and professionally with staff at all levels

  • Works well within a team and maintains confidentiality at all times

  • Can start immediately to complete a handover with the departing member of staff
