Remedy Recruitment Group are looking for a qualified social worker to work in a school located in Swindon.

This contract is authorised until March 2022 and we expect social workers to commit until this date. An exciting opportunity has arisen for individuals to work as a Social Worker as part of a Schools Project, working with the Department for Education who are piloting the programme. This is an innovative programme partnering closely with schools, Swindon Borough Council rated as good in its latest Ofsted Inspection in 2019, is proud to be one of only 20 Local Authorities in the Country to be able to take part in this initiative. The project will offer skilled Social Workers the opportunity to gain valuable and unique experience and skills and work in a role which will shape future services and make a real impact on the lives of young people and families across the town. You will be based within a School setting, supporting designated safeguarding leads, and educational and pastoral colleagues in safeguarding children and young people. To practice in accordance with and uphold the Standards of Professional Practice for social workers as defined by Social Work England, which includes the code of ethics and the continuing professional development requirements in order to maintain registration as a social worker to be able to work in England. The role of the social worker in schools will be to work with Designated Safeguarding Leads and school staff to enhance the school's response to safeguarding issues, increase collaboration between social workers, schools staff and parents and improve relationships between the social worker and young people. To carry out statutory social work which meets the threshold for statutory intervention To support carers to continue in their role in complex situations. Provide preventative advice to staff, families and young people to reduce the need for referrals which may not reach threshold for statutory work To maintain a caseload of children who may be subject to a child in need service, on a Child Protection plan or Children Looked After Work closely with the Youth Offending team to support children who are involved in or becoming involved in antisocial behaviour or criminal behaviour To work with identified children in the context of their family, wider community and school community Work with Designated Safeguarding Leads to build better relationships with families and better understand their needs Work with feeder primary schools to support an integrated family approach if needed
