Job description

Qualified Social Worker - Vale of Glamorgan Council - Adoption Team - Up to £45ph!

This is a unique opportunity to undertake a specialised social work role to oversee work with children with a plan for adoption (beginning work at when a placement order in made, matching and then placing and concluding adoption).

Do you have experience of, or an interest in, working with children who have a plan of adoption? Would you be interested in holding a caseload consisting specifically of children who have a placement order and for whom we are either family finding or are placed in an adoptive placement?

This role would involve undertaking visits to children in foster placements and adoptive placements, attending review meetings, contributing to matching/introduction plans and completing Annexe A reports for court.

We can offer flexible working arrangements, with the ability to work remotely and either on a full or part time basis

You will need to be prepared to travel as part of this role as some children may be placed outside of Wales. Because of this, you do not need to necessarily be based in South Wales to undertake this role.

You will be provided with regular supervision, access to training opportunities and be part of a small and supportive team.

You will have access to dedicated administrative support and life journey workers who will take the lead, with your help, on completing life journey work for children in adoptive placements.

You will have an initial caseload of 5 children with a commitment to a capped caseload
