Qualified Social Worker - Coventry City Council - Adoption Team - Up to £32.34 + Additional Benefits!

  • To provide a social work service to the client group.
  • Responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of complex assessments, the purchase of agreed packages of care, and the monitoring of service contracts in partnership with the client group and agencies and health professionals.
  • Responsible for the provision of casework and other social work services, to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Candidate Profile

  • To hold a recognised social work qualification and be able to provide evidence of registration to the GSCC.
  • At least 2 years Post qualification social work experience required in a Children and Families Team.
  • Knowledge of key legislation relevant to social care and adoption.
  • Knowledge of the functions of a health and social care department and related agencies.
  • Knowledge of methods to plan and review services for the LAC.
  • Experience of managing a complex caseload.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work and manage time effectively.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills with children, parents and health professionals.
  • Experience of producing reports for a variety of audiences including court reports
  • Experience of court work including the writing of statements of evidence
  • Good IT skills.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Child focused.
  • Knowledge of social diversity and equal opportunities and the ability to demonstrate this throughout all aspects of practice.
  • Previous experience of adoption work
  • Experience of working with children subject to child protection plan
  • Experience of working with children subject to high level in children in need plan
  • Ability to input data to Integrated Childrens Service system
