Are you a psychology student or graduate living in the Lewisham area? Have you ever considered working in schools as a Teaching assistant? If "yes", then we are interested in speaking to you about working with us. Remedy Education is looking for enthusiastic Psychology graduates and students, to work as learning support assistants in our schools in the Lewisham area to start September 2021. The roles will be both part and full-time on a supply basis in schools and will be to work with children and young adults with additional learning needs.

Remedy Education are working with SEN/Primary and Secondary schools who cater for pupils with ALN. Our schools require temporary staff with a Psychology background to work as Learning support assistants. Your role as a TA will be to enable their learning in and outside the classroom.

To be considered for these temporary roles the ability to engage and build rapport using Psychology knowledge and academic background is essential. If you study or have experience in Psychology, Mental health, Neuro Science and can use your understanding of child psychology, emotional development and various psychological and special educational needs in school settings as a LSA, please contact us as we foresee a huge demand again from our schools for these skills.


The role of an LSA will be:

To Support learning with the guidance of the classroom teacher

Encourage the development of positive attitudes to learning through well-planned support, and other activities

Having a creative and innovative approach to understand and supporting to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning.

Support the teachers for class and activity preparation

Monitor students learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report to the teachers of any positive and negative changes.

To join us and be successful in this role, you will need to:


*Hold A Psychology/Counselling/Mental Health/Neuro Science degree or equivalent qualification.

*Have Special Educational Needs (SEN) knowledge.

  • A strong desire to have an impact on the lives of vulnerable young people
  • Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
