Teaching Assistant/ Learning Support Assistant

Would you like to secure a new Teaching Assistant position in a thriving London primary school?

If so, we would love to hear from you! A friendly primary school based in the London borough of Southwark is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support their students with Autism. As a Teaching Assistant, you will mainly be supporting children with challenging behaviour and SEN, as well as lower ability learners, so previous experience in any of these areas is highly desirable.

This is a full-time a Teaching Assistant position, with the successful candidate joining the team until at least the end of the academic year. Therefore, applicants must be able to offer their long-term commitment to the role.

If you're a Psychology graduate with aspirations to work in Educational Psychology, this Teaching Assistant role would be perfect for gaining hands-on, paid experience working with children with SEN!

About you:

The successful 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant will need to have a degree and a keen interest in working closely with SEN students, along with a minimum of 3 months' experience working closely to Primary School children. Alternatively, the successful candidate will have over 6 months' experience working as a Teaching Assistant with SEN children, in a School environment or a similar situation. This role will be a full time role, on an ongoing contract until the end of July minimum. Should the successful Teaching Assistant, prove themselves while in the role, there is an opportunity for a permanent contract and on the job teacher training, to start next year.

About the Role:

As a primary School Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting lower ability learners and students with SEN. Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups managing challenging behaviour.
