Job description

Practitce Manager - Tameside Council, Greater Manchester - Discharge from Care Team - Up to £38ph!

You will have supervisory responsibility for two social workers who will undertake all work relating to the discharge of children from local authority care. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of all work being presented to the permanence panel where decisions will be discharged care orders for children placed at home with parents and for the making of special guardianship orders to current carers. You will manage the permanence tracker; quality assure all of the work being presented to panel and to Court. You will support social workers in attending court hearings.

You will have good organisational skills; have a good working knowledge of the legislation that underpins work with cared for children; you will have experience of supervising staff and ensuring that work is of a high standard.

You will receive regular supervision from the Team Manager and have access to training courses.

You will receive a 2 week induction period. We currently have a hybrid model of working between home and office based which can be agreed with your line manager. When office based, there is free available car parking. You will be provided with all necessary IT equipment to enable you to undertake your job role.
