Job description

Remedy Education are seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants for children with Special Educational Needs for Daily and Long Term cover in the South West and South East London area.

Have you worked in schools for children with PMLD, SLD, MLD or EBD?
Have you worked with children with extreme behavioural issues?
Do you have any 1 to 1 or group experience with children with Autism in either KS1 or KS2?
Are you MAKATON or PECS trained and qualified?

We will consider teaching assistants who have worked in a mainstream setting with relevant skills and experience.

You will demonstrate a professional approach and be able to take the initiative and work effectively with permanent staff and have the aptitude to form good relationships and be able to communicate effectively with parents and other professionals. It is vital that you hold a valid, recognised qualification and/or have had at least 6 weeks recent experience of teaching within an SEN environment in the UK.

You must:

  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Have professional experience working with SEND children in the UK in the last 3 years
  • Have up to date professional childcare related references (covering the last 2 years)
  • Have an enhanced DBS disclosure on the Update Service of be happy to apply for one
