Remedy Education are looking for an experienced, dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a top SEN School in Greenwich as soon as possible. I have a Learning Support Assistant positions available to start ASAP based in a modern and very well run Special Needs School in Greenwich. As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working in small classes supporting children with PMLD and other complex difficulties.

Pupils have complex learning and medical needs, most are wheelchair bound and are unable to communicate with the outside world - this means that a background in social care or nursing and some school based TA experience will be a huge advantage. You will be expected to support them with Hoisting, Manual Handling Needs and Personal Care (feeding, changing and toileting).

You will be working with students aged 5-11; all of whom have statements of Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be working either 1:1 with a particular student or supporting a class alongside a team of fellow Learning Support Assistant staff and the class teacher.

The personal care duties will include:

  • PEG feeding
  • Changing the students
  • Feeding orally Helping students to brush their teeth

To be eligible to apply for this position, you will need to be available to start immediately, as well as being able to commit to working 8:45am - 4pm, 5 days per week in Greenwich. You must have a good command of numeracy and literacy, as this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.

Ideally, as a Learning Support Assistant you will have the following experience: PMLD experience LSA or care experience SEND experience of or willingness to undertake personal care and manual handling tasks.

Please apply now, you can also contact Sophie at Remedy for more information on 0208 418 1390.
