Outreach Tutor (Autism Support)
ASAP Start | Barking & Dagenham
4 hours per day (2 hours per student) | Term-Time
We are currently seeking a female Outreach Tutor to work 1:1 with two primary-aged students (Year 5/6) with Autism in their home environments. One student is based in Barking and the other in Dagenham. The role will involve 2 hours per day with each student, offering consistent, structured support tailored to their individual needs.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, calm, and experienced in supporting autistic learners using communication strategies such as Makaton and visual aids.
The role will involve:
* Delivering 1:1 educational support within the student's home
* Using Makaton, visual timetables, and visual prompts to support communication and understanding
* Planning and delivering structured, engaging sessions appropriate for Year 5/6 learners
* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
* Building trusting relationships with students and families
* Working closely with professionals to follow individual support plans
We are looking for someone who:
* Is female (as requested by the families)
* Has experience working with children with Autism
* Is confident using Makaton and visual aids
* Is calm, patient, and adaptable
* Has experience tutoring or working in education, SEN, or outreach settings
* Is able to travel between Barking and Dagenham (parking is available at both locations)
