Outreach Tutor - Immediate Start (RM8 Area)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Outreach Tutor to provide targeted 1:1 tuition to a bright Year 9 student (moving into Year 10) in the RM8 area. This is an immediate start position and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's educational journey.

Role Details

• Position: Outreach Tutor

• Start Date: Immediate

• Location: Student's home - RM8 postcode

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours: 2 hours per day (1 hour Maths, 1 hour English)

• Duration: Ongoing

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition in English and Maths at GCSE level

• Provide structured, high-quality sessions tailored to the student's academic ability

• Support a student with anxiety and emotional barriers to school attendance

• Build a positive, professional rapport while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries

• Track progress and communicate updates where necessary

Requirements

• Experience as an Outreach Tutor or working with students unable to attend mainstream school

• Strong subject knowledge in both English and Maths (GCSE level)

• Ability to support students with SEMH needs, particularly anxiety

• Patient, firm, and consistent approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)

• Ability to work independently in a home-based setting
