Outreach Tutor - Immediate Start (RM8 Area)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Outreach Tutor to provide targeted 1:1 tuition to a bright Year 9 student (moving into Year 10) in the RM8 area. This is an immediate start position and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's educational journey.
Role Details
Position: Outreach Tutor
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Student's home - RM8 postcode
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 2 hours per day (1 hour Maths, 1 hour English)
Duration: Ongoing
Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 tuition in English and Maths at GCSE level
Provide structured, high-quality sessions tailored to the student's academic ability
Support a student with anxiety and emotional barriers to school attendance
Build a positive, professional rapport while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
Track progress and communicate updates where necessary
Requirements
Experience as an Outreach Tutor or working with students unable to attend mainstream school
Strong subject knowledge in both English and Maths (GCSE level)
Ability to support students with SEMH needs, particularly anxiety
Patient, firm, and consistent approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
Ability to work independently in a home-based setting
