Learning Support Assistant (LSA) | Supporting a range of SEN | Southwark

A fantastic Secondary School in the Borough of Southwark are looking to appoint several Learning Support Assistants (LSA) ahead of the new academic year (September 2018). This role will involve you working with a small number of SEN students throughout the School. The needs you will likely be supporting are; Dyslexia, Learning & Behavior difficulties and mild Autism (ASD).

You will be working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, as well as working in the Learning Support Centre helping with Maths, English, Science and more activities. Lessons will be pre-planned with a clear outline of whats expected and where progress is supposed to be made. Your line manager will be the Secondary Schools SENCO, where she will give you clear guidance throughout.

This is a brilliant opportunity for either someone who is particularly interested in supporting SEN in an older (Secondary) setting, while also perfect for an aspiring Secondary Teacher who is looking to gain experience in a Secondary environment ahead of teacher training!

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

  • Working alongside Subject Head of Departments, SEN Teachers and the Schools SENCO
  • 1:1 or group support - 11-16 years old (KS3 & KS4)
  • Additional training provided throughout
  • Full Time - Long-Term role (September 2018 - July 2019) - Term Time Only
  • £70 - £95 per day - Scope to increase after 12 working weeks
  • Located in the Borough of Southwark - South East London

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • You must be an outgoing, committed and a passionate individual
  • Must be able to use your own initiative
  • Good GCSEs and A Level required
  • Strong understanding about SEN & Secondary Curriculum required
