Job description

Learning Support Staff (Classroom Based) - North London, Islington

Remedy Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our school based in Islington, North London.

You will be required to provide daily support to the pupil you are working with, assisting in their development alongside the classroom teacher. You will be required to aid in planning and preparation of classroom activities in line with the KS1 curriculum and motivating the pupil to interact with others.

The candidate we are looking for must be flexible, experienced in working with children and are either level 2 or level 3 qualified or have recent Teaching Assistant experience. We will also consider candidates with a background working in the care industry. You must have a nurturing, child-centred approach. You must also be able to tailor learning to suit the child's needs and be able to keep children engaged.

To be accepted for this role you will need:

  • Previous experience working within a school as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant
  • A current DBS
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy
