Learning Mentor

Location: Harlow, Essex

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Remedy are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our team in Harlow. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies to support students' academic progress and personal growth.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and track students' progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to take responsibility for their actions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop individualised learning plans for students with additional needs.
- Act as a mentor and role model, inspiring students to reach their full potential.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.
- Strong empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting student learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications or training in mentoring, counselling, or education (desirable but not essential).
