Job description

The Housing Needs and Strategy team is growing to provide more intensive support to the borough's vulnerable residents.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team. The main purpose of the role is to provide timely, accurate and supportive housing and health assessment services for residents with housing needs. The post holder will assess residents to provide appropriate recommendations and support interventions including any specific equipment and/or adaptation provision required. You will do this in full accordance of relevant legislation's, codes of guidance, the housing allocations scheme and in-house policies and procedures in order to provide a fair response as well as at the same time protecting the Council's interests.
About you
The successful candidate should have prior experience of working in a similar multi-disciplinary team setting and will possess the ability to make appropriate assessments based on information provided by health professionals and the service user. You will look at alternative methods, techniques and strategies for coping with functional deficits as well as making suggested alterations to resident's homes.
The successful candidate must hold a recognised qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC). You will be experienced in managing a dynamic and diverse caseload and operate as efficiently as possible, striving for continuous improvement. You will have experience of working in the community carrying out assessments for minor and major equipment and minor and major adaptations
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

You will need to be:

Social work england registered
Eligible to work in the UK
Atleast 1 year post qualifying experience
