Housing Officer
Job description
Our Client Westminster Council, is looking for a Housing Officer to join their team.
General Information:
36 hours p/w, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
One day p/w homeworking for admin, subject to office staffing levels
One day per week office reception service
Public facing and patch based.
Maintain regular estate presence
Support vulnerable residents working with support agencies and conducting tenancy support reviews
Process service requests from residents and manage decants
Support gas safety checks and access for repairs
Manage fraud and unlawful occupation, successions assignments, deaths, household changes
Support rehousing requests
Signpost and support repairs
Support resident reps and associations
Job Summary:
Manage a designated patch of properties, this may include Social Housing tenants, Council leaseholders, Community Supported residents and some out of borough properties.
Deliver a friendly, effective, professional and high-quality service to all residents and services users.
Lead the management of your patch taking ownership and accountability of all issues ensuring they are progressed as well as leading on communication with residents' groups, customers and stakeholders. Provide a visible presence on estates.
Carry out home visits. Carry out quarterly estate inspections and attend local surgeries as required. Work with a range of Council and external services to support residents.
This will involve working closely and co-operatively with the Housing Income Team, ASB team, Leasehold Services, Repairs, Housing Solutions, Estate Services, Customer Services, Major Works engagement team, Development teams etc. Providing excellent customer service to Council residents, responding to call back requests, emails and letters within established timeframes.
