Head of Languages - Basildon

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Basildon. As we continue to grow and excel, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join us as the Head of Languages.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Languages Department, providing vision, direction, and leadership to a team of dedicated language educators.
* Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging curriculum that promotes linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and a love for languages.
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, ensuring high standards of academic achievement and progress for all students.
* Lead by example in delivering excellent teaching, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote the importance of languages and encourage cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment activities.
Requirements:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in one or more modern foreign languages.
* Substantial experience teaching languages at the secondary level, with a proven track record of raising student attainment and progress.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and support colleagues to achieve excellence.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for staying abreast of developments in language teaching pedagogy and curriculum innovation.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
