Job Title: Head of History
Location: Southend, Essex
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting on behalf of a school dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally. Our commitment to excellence extends to every aspect of school life, including our History Department. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as the Head of History.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the History Department, inspiring and motivating a team of educators to deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences.
* Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students, fostering a love for history and critical thinking skills.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and interventions as necessary to ensure all students reach their full potential.
* Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, school events, and collaborative initiatives.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and educational best practices, continually enhancing the quality of history education within the school.
Requirements:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in History or a related field.
* Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues to excel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
* A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for staying abreast of educational research and best practices.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
