Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Family Support Worker to be part of a team delivering early intervention and family support across the borough. This is an essential frontline service meeting the needs of children, young people and families who are or have faced a crisis affecting parenting capacity. You will need to be motivated, innovative and willing to work with different partner agencies, children and families from different and diverse backgrounds. The role involves working with colleagues in children's social care and a wide variety of partners in external agencies. You will be expected to provide a range of support in the home to a diverse community. You will need to understand safeguarding and be able to work with mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic violence, learning disabilities and other factors that could impede effective parenting. Our aim is to improve outcomes for children within the family environment.

What you need:

  • QSW Status - including qualification, Social Work England registration and completed ASYE
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Right to work in the UK
