Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience working with SEN children within early years and would like to secure a local position in Lambeth, South London.

Remedy Education is currently looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school based in Lambeth to support two pupils within a reception class. Both pupils are on the autistic spectrum (non-verbal) and require 1:1 support. If successful, you will support each pupil individually on a full-time basis and work with them for at least the rest of the academic year (July 2022). Ideally, the School would like someone to start now, however they will wait until January for the right person and can offer a tour of the school immediately if you meet the criteria below.

You do not need to be practising the faith to work at the school, however, be open to different backgrounds and religions.


The school was recently rated 'Outstanding' within their early years provision. The provision is constantly evaluated to ensure that children have many opportunities to develop and apply their skills. They have excellent facilities, a brilliant team and welcoming environment.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Have a min of 3 months experience working with children in the last 2 years
  • SEN knowledge and experience
  • Degree qualified or completed relevant qualifications
  • A good understanding about working with children on the autistic spectrum
  • Makaton, PEC's and/or BSL experience (highly desirable)
  • Confident working 1:1 with pupils on your own initiative
  • Live locally to Luton or willing to commute
  • DBS on the update service (we can help if you require a new one)
  • Available now or in January
