Job description
Our client, Derby City Council is looking for a Child Protection Manager to call their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right person with relevant experience to apply for this pivotal role in child protection within Derby city. Your primary responsibility is managing the child protection conference process including chairing meetings and agreeing child protection plans. For this you will need a sound knowledge of child protection procedures and an ability to evaluate risk. You will ensure plans are appropriate and focussed on improving outcomes for the child, advising on steps to protect children and supporting staff across all agencies to hold an appropriate level of risk. User participation is very important in this and you will use and develop a range of approaches to promote effective, meaningful participation for adults, young people and children. You will have a social work qualification and significant experience in child protection work, with supervisory or management experience. This is a supportive team and you will be involved in regular group and individual supervision. In addition to working closely with Independent and Children in Need Reviewing Officers.
You will need to be:
Social work england registered
Eligible to work in the UK
Atleast 1 year post qualifying experience
