Job Title: Arbor/Cover Manager
Location: Dagenham, RM8
Reports to: Assistant Headteacher

About Us: Join our dynamic team at a dedicated institution committed to providing an exceptional educational experience. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Arbor/Cover Manager to support our academic and administrative functions.

Job Summary: The Arbor/Cover Manager will play a crucial role in managing our Arbor systems, ensuring efficient school operations, and maintaining accurate student and staff data. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent IT skills and a passion for education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of Arbor systems management, including liaising with the Network Manager and Assistant Headteacher (AHT).
  • Implement and maintain the school timetable, including End of Year and New Year procedures.
  • Manage and execute the termly Census processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Train staff on Arbor software and provide ongoing support.
  • Handle daily cover needs, allocate cover lessons, and support cover teachers.
  • Maintain the student database, timetables, and pastoral structures throughout the academic year.
  • Liaise with external companies and agencies as needed.
  • Attend relevant courses and undertake training to enhance professional practice.
  • Serve as a trained First Aider.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Outstanding IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Positive and collaborative team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all levels.
  • Customer service-oriented, professional, friendly, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Self-motivated with a good sense of humor.
  • Ability to remain patient and positive under pressure, demonstrating flexibility with changing priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and staff.
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
  • Previous experience working within a school environment.
  • Proficiency with Management Information Systems (preferably Arbor).

Desirable:

  • Experience preparing termly census reports on an MIS.
