Behavioural Support Assistant

Remedy Education are recruiting for a Behavioural assistant to work within one of their client Primary Schools in Lambeth and Southwark. The role will consist of monitoring and controlling the behaviour of pupils in line with the schools behaviour policy.

Experience with challenging behaviour would be ideal for this role due to the demands of the pupils needs that you will be working with. The successful applicant will be working with a wide variety of students that have additional SEN needs, such as ASC, ADHD and Global learning delay.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be expected to work with students that are disengaged and implement strategic plans to re-engage these students. Communicating with parents and senior leaders whenever necessary and Identifying students who will require more support will also be a key part of the job role. Whilst working under the guidance of the school SENCO you will manage the individual needs of students with SEN, including those who have difficulty behaving in the expected manner.

To be successful in this position, you must have:

  • Degree or Level 3 Qualification in Support Teaching or equivalent
  • Relevant experience across KS1
  • Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

Given the nature of this position, it is important to note that this role will involve having to deal with adverse and difficult situations at time. Being able to quickly develop a relationship with both students and staff will be essential. Regular training will be provided by the school and this opportunity will allow the candidate to work with students from a variety of different backgrounds.
