Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Children's Social Care Improvement Consultant to work at an Assistant Director Level for a Local Authority in East London.

Job Purpose

The post is in a Directorate called People and Resilience. This Directorate is led by the Director of Adults and Children's Services (a joint DCS/DASS post) to whom this assignment will report and sits alongside:

• Director of Operations (Children's Social Care)
• Director of Operations (Adults Social Care)
• Director of Education
• Director of Public Health
• Director of Commissioning

Service Composition

The Improvement Partner will not have direct management responsibility for any officers as they will be working alongside the incumbent Director of Operations (Children's Social Care) - as well as the DCS and Director of Commissioning - to support them to drive improvement across the service in preparation for an expected OFSTED ILACS within the next 9-12 months. The composition of Children's Care and Support Operations is, in summary, as follows:

• 1x Head of MASH
• 1x Head of Assessment and Intervention (currently vacant and being filled in an interim basis).
• 1x Head of Family Support and Safeguarding
• 1x Head of Corporate Parenting and Permanence
• 1x Head of Specialist Intervention Service
• 2x Commissioning Managers (mixed portfolios)
