2 Days per Week (Thursday & Friday) | Long-Term Role | ASAP Start

Are you passionate about Early Years education and confident using British Sign Language?

This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to join a highly respected specialist primary school for deaf pupils in Camden. The school is known for its nurturing, child-centred approach and its commitment to ensuring every pupil feels confident, understood, and empowered from their very first days in education.

They are seeking a dedicated Early Years BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team two days per week on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible.

Why This Role Is Special

This isn't just another TA position. You'll play a vital role in helping children aged 4-5 build the foundations of communication, confidence and learning through British Sign Language.

You will be instrumental in ensuring every child can fully access their early education in a supportive, language-rich environment.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting children aged 4-5 as they begin their education journey

  • Using BSL throughout the day to support learning, routines and play

  • Assisting with early literacy, numeracy and creative activities

  • Encouraging communication, independence and social development

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, hearing/speech specialists and families

  • Creating a calm, engaging and inclusive classroom environment

What We're Looking For:

  • BSL Level 2 qualification or higher

  • Experience working with Early Years children (SEN experience highly desirable)

  • A patient, nurturing and enthusiastic personality

  • Confidence signing consistently throughout classroom activities

  • Someone who genuinely believes communication is at the heart of learning

What the School Offers:

  • A specialist setting where BSL is valued and celebrated

  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative staff culture

  • Ongoing training and professional development

  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact at a crucial stage of development

  • A welcoming, community-focused environment

If you're looking for a part-time role where your BSL skills will be truly valued and where you can see the difference you make every day, we would love to hear from you.
