Learning Support Assistant - BSL Qualified
Remedy Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 and above to work closely with pupils in a Deaf Support Provisions in Lewisham.
This particular candidate must be passionate and dedicated to the learning and development of pupils with additional needs, especially children with Hearing Impairment. The school is looking for someone to provide the best quality of teaching for these pupils in order to create a BSL friendly environment on a long-term basis. It is also vital for the school to find the most suitable candidate for their students to ensure that levels of attainment are being met accordingly.
The ideal applicant must have a minimum of a Level 2 in British Sign Language, however, candidates with a lower level of qualification and a high level of experience in using British Sign Language will also be considered. We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual who wants to make a difference and can support students with Hearing Impairment.
To be considered for this role you must have;
- Level 2/3 in British Sign language
- Must have a current DBS
- Experience working with students with Hearing impairment
- A passion and desire for working with Special Educational Needs
- The ability to differentiate approaches to learning & provide dynamic teaching
