Are you a compassionate, resilient, and confident professional looking to make a real difference? We're seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist SEMH school in Dagenham, supporting KS3-KS4 students who have experienced barriers to attending mainstream education. Many of the students have ASD or struggle with Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help students regulate emotions and engage with learning.

  • Build trusting, positive relationships to support students' emotional wellbeing.

  • Implement behaviour plans, restorative approaches, and de-escalation strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals.

  • Support a small class of up to 10 students across subjects including English, Maths, Biology, Art, Business Studies, History, PE, plus regular rewards and enrichment activities.

  • Promote a positive, structured, and safe school environment.

About You:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, ASD, or trauma-informed challenges.

  • Skilled in de-escalation and behaviour regulation techniques.

  • Calm, patient, and able to stay professional under pressure.

  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills and resilience.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, experienced multidisciplinary team.

  • Ongoing training and CPD, including safeguarding and behaviour support.

  • A rewarding role where your work has a real, lasting impact on students' lives.

If you're ready to support young people to thrive academically and emotionally, we'd love to hear from you.
