Role: ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary

Location: Greenwich, South East London

Contract: Full time / Part Time

Start: ASAP

Rate: £95-100 per day

We are looking for an ASD - Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in a 1:1 setting with a child who has Autism. Your responsibility will be to deliver the best support for a year 7 boy who has Autism.

The ideal ASD Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
• Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.
• Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• DBS (preferably on the update service).
