Remedy Education are currently working with an excellent SEND school in Greenwich, who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant with SEND experience to join their school starting ASAP.

You will be working with children each with statements of Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be assisting more than one class, as well as working 1:1 with your selected student. This schools looks after children with SEMH and ASD; although, a majority of the time you will spend within one class.

To be eligible to apply for this position, it is essential that you have experience supporting pupils with PMLD and their personal care needs - this will involve changing and feeding.

In addition to this, PECS and/or Makaton will be useful in this post; however training will be provided.
You will be up-skilled in this role with Moving and Hoisting skills training.

You will need to be available to start as soon as schools re-open, as well as being able to commit to working full school hours, a minimum of 3 school days per week. You must have a good command of numeracy and literacy, as this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.
Daily cover work also available.
