Role: Teaching Assistant - ADHD

Location: South East London

Contract: Full time

Start: ASAP

Rate: £95-£110

Are you looking to take on a new Teaching Assistant - ADHD Position?

if so we are are looking for a Specialist ADHS Teaching Assistant to join one our biggest SEN schools in South East London. You will be delivering the best support to students aged 11-16. We would require you to have strong ADHD or relevant SEN experience as most of the students have mild-low SEN. The key aspect of this role is cohering to the behaviour de-escalation methods and promoting positive reinforcement strategies. We want your work to make a positive impact to the schools reputation and success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with ADHD, aiding them in managing their behaviour and focusing on their learning.
  • Implement innovative strategies to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to inform future support strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and learning.

Requirement:

  • Must have strong SEN Experience
  • Candidates must have a valid DBS certificate on the update service (Not mandatory as we can provide one).
  • Previous experience working with children with ADHD, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of ADHD and effective behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs or behaviour management are desirable.
