Job description

A two-form entry primary school based in Lewisham are looking for a 1:1 teaching assistant to provide support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism and ADHD.

The ideal teaching assistant will be committed, enthusiastic and have demonstrable SEND experience and will support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and meeting sensory needs. Knowledge and experience ADHD, Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs will be highly beneficial. You will also have an understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and be able to work in collaborative manner with the Class Teacher and SENCO in order to support the child's learning and progress. Experience with communication skills such as PECS and Makaton is highly desirable but not essential

This is a full-time role to start in September 2019 and continue on for the rest of the academic year.

The ideal candidate:
Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils
Experience with ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
PECS and Makaton - not essential but highly desirable.
