Teaching assistant dealing with Challenging Behaviour

Remedy are looking to employee a teaching assistant who can assist with students with challenging behaviour based in Wandsworth, London. The students at this school have SEMH so have very challenging behaviour and find it hard to focus.

We are ideally looking for people who have previous youth work experience which can be helpful when dealing with these students.

You will be required to work within a classroom setting as well as some 1:1 work.

The school is based in Wandsworth with the closet station being Tooting Bec. the school has great facilites and has friendly welcoming staff.

* Full time Teaching Assistant position, immediate start

* £80- £90 per day depending upon previous experiences

* Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis and in a classroom setting

The successful Teaching Assistant will support students in class across the subject areas, and deliver targeted interventions to students on a 1:1 basis during lessons and break times.

Further to this, the appointed Youth Work Teaching Assistant will have the opportunity to cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher, which is great experience of classroom and behaviour management. Due to some of the students displaying challenging behaviour, the role will also involve working closely with pupils who have been withdrawn from lessons.

Based in South West London near Wandsworth with close public transport links, this is a well facilitated school.
