Teaching Assistant

Are you a EBD Teaching Assistant who likes to live life with passion? Have you always wanted to work with Social, Emotional and Mental Health pupils?

Would you like to work in a progressive South East London PRU as a SEN Teaching Assistant?

Have you been an EBD Teaching Assistant in a mainstream or SEN setting or this your first experience?

As an EBD Teaching Assistant would you like to work 1:1 with pupils with EBD, PMLD and Autism?

The PRU we are working with have a fantastic ethos where they want to they are a progressive in their approach to END and SEMH. When working with Academics, they are looking for Graduates and non Graduates who have either personal or school based EBD experience.

The role of EBD Teaching Assistant is excellent practice for a future career as an Occupational Therapist, Clinical or Education Psychologist. Having previous experience, voluntary or paid, prepares you for the challenges and rewards you will face within the SEN Teaching Assistant role. Previous experience is an advantage in the SEN sector, and for our teacher training element. Personal experience is of real benefit, that's where empathy is incredibly important. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is as rewarding and challenging in equal measure.

***£80 - £90 per day for EBD Teaching Assistant role

***Learning elements of both the Primary and Secondary curriculum so you can adjust your teaching and behavioural approach accordingly

EBD Teaching Assistant role

  • 5 days a week, working 1:1 with SEN pupils, working in small groups with 1 Specialist SEN Teacher
  • Learning from the SENCo and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants, readying for your future career in Psychology /Social/HealthCare industries
  • Working closely with parents to ensure what is carried on at school is continued at home, a huge element of the role. Some parents will be more involved than others
  • Learning from some phenomenal teachers and SEN practioners, it will ready you for your future career
