Job description

My client is looking for a Teacher of the deaf; they need BSL level 2 at least. They are based in an affluent area of SW London and are close to travel links.

Although this is a teacher's post they will look at employing an unqualified teacher or Instructor. This is a highly rewarding post in a secure Unit working with Deaf students with complex, severe mental health issues. Working in this environment requires a passionate and nurturing teacher with behaviour management skills and someone who can support young people through emotional difficulties.

You will only ever teach 2/3 pupils at once and there will always be a TA and nurse with you. The pupils are aged 8-16 but they are at KS2 so a Primary trained teacher will also suit this post. You will teach UK Curriculum Core subjects and any other subject area that you specialise in. My Client wants a passionate teacher and nurturing person. This is a 1 term contract to continue on from there with the possibility of a permanent post for the right person.

The right candidate will have a positive attitude, a passion for teaching and working with SEN.

If you wish to apply for this position then please send your CV for the attention of Natalie at Remedy Education
