Experienced Surveyor required to undertake extensive building contract administration, the preparation of legal contract tender documentation, specification, supervision and monitoring of revenue and capital contracts for Council owned Housing

To assist the Senior Surveyor to successfully deliver the annual planned/capital/cyclical works programs and services.

To undertake the preparation of reports, estimates, feasibility studies, design and contract procurement for revenue and capital schemes as identified by the Senior Surveyor including the management and supervision of contracts on site.

To maintain excellent communication with customers and Borough Council staff and to ensure the highest possible standards of repairs and excellent customer service are achieved within set budget parameters.

To carry out pre and post inspections of void properties and capital and planned programmes.

To provide building contract administration support, cost advice, cost planning, support to prepare legal contract tender documentation, analysis of tenders received, cost control and budgeting of contracts.

Responsibility for contract management and the issuing of certificates of practical completion, non-completion, site instructions, variation orders, payments and ensuring completion of defect liability works.

To provide regular updates of expenditure on capital budgets and performance of the services and to maintain financial and statistical records for all capital works including any special projects.

Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure an effective and efficient delivery of work/contract

To assist in the identification of properties and schemes requiring future planned maintenance programmes for the councils housing stock including carrying out stock condition surveys.

To carry out pre and post inspections of void properties and prepare detailed schedule of works for contractors, obtain necessary quotations in accordance with the Councils Corporate Procurement Rules

Carry out surveys of specialist projects/works and compile information to assist with the preparation of specifications and other contract documents, including measured surveys.
