SEN Teaching Assistants must:

*Have 6+ months previous experience working within SEN
*Must have a current DBS Children disclosure within 12 months of issue
*Be able to travel to Newham and be there for 8:30am
*£70-85 per day, dependant on experience
*Be proactive, show initiative at all times and have a firm but fair approach

*PECS/Makaton/BSL/Maybo/Team Teach or some form of restraint experience is preferred

The School - SEN Teaching Assistant

The school is roughly a 5 minute walk from several train stations and bus links you can access. They have almost 30 students, aged 19-25, within the school. All of the pupils either have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Needs. The school has exceptional facilities and grounds that ensure a vibrant learning experience for the students. They have a fantastic team who can provide excellent training and support, regardless of whether you are employed on a permanent or temporary basis.

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is within a brilliant SEN school that I have the pleasure of working closely with. The school are looking to meet an SEN Teaching Assistant who has previous experience, voluntary or paid, working with children who have Special Educational Needs. The ideal candidate will have worked in a school with students that have a range of complex needs such as ASD, PMLD, SLD and SEMHD. They will be a resilient and friendly individual who can build a great rapport with children. The role would require the candidate to be comfortable dealing with calming potentially volatile situations, restraining students and working with the students to try and make a positive impact. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you would be supporting the emotional, social and academic development of the students you work with to optimize learning and maximise comfort.
