Supervising Social Worker, IFA, Wakefield, Yorkshire, £29,000 - £33,000pa

If you are looking to work in a growing independent fostering agency, we urgently want to hear from you.

Ideally you will have some experience in fostering along with good communication skills.

Based in Wakefield, Yorkshire you will work with foster carers in the surrounding area so it is necessary for you to be a car driver/owner. Immediate interviews offered!!

Main duties include:

  • To make initial visits to potential foster carers undertaking competency based assessments
  • To prepare a report on carers suitability using the BAAF form F format and present for approval to Fostering Panel.
  • To update Form F for foster carers you are supervising.
  • To participate in training of staff, foster carers and potential foster carers.
  • To visit foster carers every fortnight and to complete pro-forma written report of each visit. To include record of any concerns expressed requests for additional support and how these are to be met.
  • To take responsibility in assisting in the career development of carers, establishing training needs with them and making plans to meet these.
  • To complete the required Annual Review Reports including information from the end of placement reports.

Essential requirements:

  • A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised social work qualification
  • Post qualified experience of working within children & families including fostering
  • Good knowledge of Fostering Regulations 2013
  • Car driver/owner is essential due to the nature of the role.
