This mainstream secondary school situated in South East London is seeking a Student Welfare Officer to join their busy Student Information Centre.

This is a long term role starting in September, with the potential of becoming permenant.

The successful Student Welfare Officer will need to be confident, enthusiastic and able to make the job your own. Your role will be to handle a complex and sometimes challenging caseload, ensuring that the required protocols are followed and matters are escalated according to statutory guidance.

Student Welfare Officer Responsibilities

  • Managing referrals and informing the Local Authorities and other External Agencies required
  • Maintaining the student's file
  • Providing advice and counselling to students as required
  • Meeting parents/carers, including making home visits where required
  • To support students with a variety of issues that may arise during the day
