Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking a Strategic Procurement Officer to work within Newham Council.

Job Purpose

• We are looking for a highly competent person who can lead on a number of concession and place / assets / infrastructure public procurement projects. He/she needs to be a self-starter requiring minimal management and technical support.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of running end-to-end public procurement processes for local authorities in accordance with the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016 and the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 is essential. The appointee must also comply with Havering and Newham Councils' internal standing orders and governance requirements.
• Therefore, experience of navigating and complying with local authority internal governance requirements is required. The appointee will be required to procure several concession arrangements that will be new to the council(s).
• Therefore he/she must be able to identify which operating model will best suited to each proposed concession, and how each can be procured in a way which is compliant and robust yet efficient. Experience in setting up and procuring dynamic purchasing systems (DPSs) in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations would be desirable, as would MCIPS qualification.
