Job description

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who would be interested in being involved in an exciting short term project. This role would suit someone who has previous experience of working with reablement and active recovery services.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist consultant to undertake a deep dive into some support cases, carry out educational and training work with staff and undertake evaluations.

The post is part time for 2 days per week initially for a period of 2 months.

Key tasks of the role will include:

  • Assessment of service user needs and reablement
  • To sit on a panel to review referrals into Reach or Active Recovery
  • To re-educate workforce on what reablement is
  • To be involved in the development of reablement plans
  • To be involved in the development of the Reach service, providing direction to workforce
  • Working with workforce development to devise and deliver a training programme for REaCH staff on personalised care and support planning that enables people to optimise independence in activities of daily living
  • Advising on the provision of equipment to support independence
  • Advising on referrals to other services
  • Supporting with moving and handling risk assessments

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
