Speech and Language Teaching Assistant required for a primary school in South East London to start in September 2018.

Fantastic opportunity for a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a well-established primary School in South East London. The role would suit a graduate with related degree and an interest in Psychology or Psychotherapy. Additional qualifications related to Speech & Language or autism are a bonus!

The ideal Speech and Language Teaching Assistant will be organised and pro-active looking for experience to perhaps go on and be a Speech and Language therapist or an SEN Teacher in the future. You should have previous experience working with children or young people with speech and language difficulties and have a passion for this kind of work.

The role with involve 1:1, small group work and withdrawal sessions with KS1 and KS2 students with moderate speech and language difficulties. There will also be some in class support within the mainstream provision.

The school is looking for someone who can bring to the role fresh ideas and help the children make good progress within this Secondary School. The successful Speech and Language Teaching Assistant should be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to work with children with Special Educational Needs in a Secondary school environment.
