Special Needs Teaching Assistant Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Southwark, South East London
Needed for September 2018

Are you passionate about the inclusion of children with special educational needs and disabilities?
Are you a positive, self-motivated, well-organised person with a 'can-do' attitude?

Remedy Education is looking for special needs teaching assistants to work in a primary special needs school in the London borough of Southwark on a long-term basis. Special needs teaching assistants need to provide a high level of support to children with a range of learning difficulties including ASD (autism), complex needs and PMLD.

The school has a family orientated atmosphere and firmly believes in providing the best care to each and every child. If successful in this post you will have the opportunity to work in sensory rooms, use manual handling equipment and support children in a specialised swimming unit.

It is preferred to have experience of working with young children with special education needs. You will also need excellent inter-personal and communication skills, have the ability to work on your own initiative but also to be an effective team player. This is a dynamic and exciting post within a well-respected and high-profile team.

If you are looking to change career and have the skills that could be used in a special needs school then this school could be for you.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
