Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Lewisham South East London

We are currently working with Special Needs Secondary Unit based in Lewisham, located close to Catford station. They are currently seeking a full-time Secondary level Teaching Assistant to support their Key stage 3 and Key stage 4 students with Autism.

You will be able to possess the following skills and support the following:

• Establish a routing with students
• Consider their learning environment
• Manage changes and transitions
• Communicate clearly
• Integrate their interests
• Work with their parents/carers
• Build your resilience

The SEN school support students with Severe and Profound Learning Disabilities (including Autism). All students have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) or are admitted to an assessment basis. The school currently have over 80 pupils across eleven class groups. Each class team has 3 or 4 Learning Support Assistants (LSA) and led by a classroom teacher.

The school are looking for someone experienced to start ASAP on a full time long term basis.

To be accepted for this role you must have previous experience working within a school supporting students with SEN. You will be required to have a clear DBS on the update service.
