Senior Qualified Social Worker- CWD - West London x3

Remedy Recruitment are currently working with a local authority in West London and are currently seeking an experienced Senior Qualified Social Worker to work within a busy CWD team.

The successful candidate should require the following-

  • To work as part of a team providing a consistent, timely and cost effective service improving outcomes for young people aged between 0 and 18 with additional needs.
  • To improve outcomes for young people; enabling them to have security, stability and to be safeguarded in all aspects of their lives.
  • To maintain high standards of professional practice and to be responsible for social work provision in accordance with the legislative and regulatory framework and departmental guidance and procedure.
  • With supervision and advice, you will manage a caseload undertaking the tasks of assessment, planning, implementation, and review of service outcomes; negotiating for and co-ordinating the application of resources.
  • To undertake supportive and preventative work with individuals and families; including supporting a family to maintain caring for a child at home. Providing a higher level of support to families with complex needs, serving as a change agent in different ways, and maximising the professional network involved.
  • To carry out risk assessments and undertake work with vulnerable children and young people under The London Child Protection Procedures.
  • To provide support for carers and undertake assessments under the Care Act 2014.
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant government legislation, regulations, guidance and best practice.
  • To help children, young people, their families and carers identify areas of difficulty, then identifying and obtaining appropriate support for them.
  • Using professional autonomy, and in consultation with manager, to investigate all cases referred where young people are thought to be in need of care and control, exposed to danger, ill treatment or neglect and to take appropriate action.
  • To keep and maintain accurate, quality and up to date records on cases, using the appropriate computer systems of visits made and all other work carried out. Reports to be placed on correct form on client files and reviews of current cases to be undertaken with senior colleagues.
  • To liaise with other agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
