Job description

Kick start your career as a SEN Teaching Assistant in an exciting and welcoming Special Educational Needs School based in the London Borough of Greenwich. Extensive support and training will be provided.

Salary ranging from: £75 - £90 (dependent on experience)

I am recruiting for Long term SEN Teaching Assistant who have an ambition for supporting children and young adults with Special Educational Needs. The school is a dynamic and positive environment to be in, both for the students and members of staff.

This school caters for young adults aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties/Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Based in Greenwich, the school has superb public transport links and parking facilities for those who drive.

Experience working with students with special educational needs and willingness to undertake a DBS check with the school is a must.

Duties will include:

  • Working closely with pupils of SEN in groups or 1:1, maintaining and improving the social, emotional, physical and learning needs for pupils.
  • The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be able to tailor their approach in regards to communication, engagement, and distraction techniques to optimise learning and maximise comfort.
