1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

ASAP start

Lambeth

A large secondary SEN school in Southwark is recruiting an experienced teaching assistant to start ASAP. This is a full time position, working hours are 8am until 5pm

This well-resourced school caters for students with ASD, communication, learning and behaviour difficulties. They provide an exceptional education with a therapeutic approach, building on learning and social skills.

Although this is a secondary school they have a small nurture class, for Y6 students who will be transitioning into Y7 at the school. The selected applicant will be working in this class supporting a male student who has Autism and behaviour difficulties. You will work alongside teachers and outside agencies to engage the student and raise attainment levels, while working on social skills and emotional regulation. Previous experience with SEN and ASD in particular would be advantageous.

The main skills required will be resilience, consistency and the ability to build a good relationship. Previous experience within an SEN school would be advantageous.
