SEN Teaching Assistant | Psychology or Sociology Graduates Required | Lambeth

The Head Teacher of an 'Outstanding' Primary School in the Borough of Lambeth are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to start January 2019.

The Head Teacher is looking for a recent Psychology or Sociology graduate who has a wealth of knowledge/theory and is now keen to put it into practice within an education environment. You will be working across either KS1 or KS2 Supporting a variety of Special Educational Needs from: Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and Learning Difficulties.

You will be provided with support from all staff, given the opportunity for both in & out of house training and the possibility to shadow a range of therapists that visit the Primary School fortnightly.

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT - THE ROLE:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting a variety of SEN: Autism (ASD/ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia and Behaviour Difficulties
  • Supporting their learning and understanding how to communicate with children with different needs
  • Working alongside a range of therapists & professionals
  • January 2019 Start - Full Time & Long - Term
  • £70 - £80 per day
  • Located in the Borough of Lambeth

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT - THE PERSON:

  • Kind and caring graduate with lots of patience
  • Prior child related experience - ideally with children with SEN
  • Not afraid of a challenge
  • Graduate - 2:1 or above preferably (Psychology or Sociology)

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT - THE SCHOOL:

  • Lovely 2 form entry school
  • Short walk from 2 different underground stations
  • Opportunity to work alongside Therapists (Speech and Language, Occupational and Physio)
